why do lease companys only do 10,000 miles a year im sure company vans do more than this ill be doeing at least 26,000 does any one know of a longer lease

my works van is allowed 90000 over 3 years

however ive done 11,000 in 3 months

Quite honestly leasing is dead money IMO. As for the milage, I didn't realise there were any limits. How would they tell, until they get the van in for service/at the end of the contract? Would there then be penalties?

yes there are penalties about 2 pence per mile when they get it back
my van is a berlingo and is about £350 a month that includes tyres and servicing

yep thats smaller and dear i can buy a 2005 reg for £48 A MONTH FROM REG VARDYS FOR THE RES OF MY LIFE but how reliable are the dueratec engines will i be buting engines all the time

OK for a company because the whole rental is tax deductable - loads of mileage correction firms about if for instance you think your speedo may be over stating the mileage (ahem) - just make sure it goes back with no damage or they will charge you main dealer money to put it right

not really viable for private customers though as Fred says dead money

I have the 'pleasure' of a company provided car. At the moment they have decided to lease them all. Our firm has around 100 vehicles. They used to buy them new from the local Vauxhall dealer, and trade them back in about 2 to 4 years, or 50,000 to 150,000 miles dependant on condition, amount spent on repairs etc etc.

Now our small family owned firm has been bought out by a large organisation, all suppliers have been streamlined to fit in with the corparate image. Before everything came from the local area. Now even the fax paper comes from down south.

Anyway, back to vehicles. Last summer they began to sell everything we owned and everyone's car/van was replaced by a leased one. Most are on 3 yr full maint contract, with a 120,000 limit. Not sure how this will pan out though, probably end up all swapping round to keep in the limits, as some do 10k a year, some do 50k plus.

Outcome is according to our fleet manager that we spend twice as much per month than we used to this time last year, as the monthly cost is fixed, whereas before even if the odd engine blew up and cost £3000 the average car didn't.

No pay rises then from now on.

kerr and smith in glasgow are offering iveco daileys or ford transits mk 6 on unlimited mileage and serviceing to trade customers the guy i spoke to said that if you brought the van back to them bellow 150,000 then thay swap them no probs but if you liked your van then thay dont mind you can keep the van for the full 4 yr agreement

just do what most people do and clock the coont before its returned etc, save yaself a fortune in fees
