Cosworth bits

Right i have just bought a Granny v6 24v.

Simple question. what bits do i need to rob from it to fit it to a MK3 and do it manual. i will only be able to have the car here for 2 days as i have no space. 1 day i hav set aside to get the loom out.

A list of bits would be useful

first off what year reg is the car, or easier still what colour are the front indicator lamps, clear plastic or amber plastic, hope they're amber cos it'll be a lot easier

oh well, its not an easy car to take apart but if you take your time you'll get there in the end, as your scraping the car afterwards the easiest thing to do is cut the slam panel out between the lights, and take the rads out,

have you taken an engine out of a car before.

easier to take engine and box together

you have to take the oil remote off or the engine won't come past the steering very easy.

What flywheel do i need to get or will the pinto one do

You have to ad a bit to the pinto plate first.

well i'd save the auto box too then just incase you cant find a flywheel - wouldnt be too much to hassle to fit the auto then convert to manual later

once the engine is out you will need the loom, this is the hard bit as you have the later car with a second big fuse box next to the battery, basicly the engine loom starts round by the abs and goes round the front of the engine bay and into the car behind the abs pump on the passenger side.

inner wing on the driver side is the EDIS 6, don't forget it, its easy to forget i know, i've forgoten it myself before, its best to unbolt the abs pump so the wiring feeds through a lot easier, this is done with i think 3 bolts got at from the wheel arch.

as for the wiring from inside the car, its just a case of getting it out the best way you can, i'll have a word with my mate in the morning as to what you need from inside and from the big fuse box as i leave the wiring to him, so he know what to grab out.

One other things what do i need to connect the wires to in the van. where is the plug where the engine loom joins.

its not as simple as that, my mate charges £150 a time to wire them up but thats only cos most people cant be bothered to work it out, and yours is the more difficult one to wire up,

when are you planning on takeing the engine and loom out of the granada
