i was reading how you made moulds of the van and re-cast the parts, very interesting 8)

My original plan was to produce a long wheelbase bodyshell to use with the Esci parts but it just seems to have snowballed from there!!
I have ended up doing a chassis cab as well and there is another shell waiting to be cut down and converted to a crew cab.
A friend of mine on another forum is going to try and convert one into a MK1, although I might even have a go at that myself one day.
There is still a lot of work to do on my vans yet but my plan is to have a couple finished ready for the Transit show at Gaydon next month.
I'm hoping to get down there and get some inspiration for other builds and maybe get some detailed photos.
As for reproducing them, I need to be careful with Copyright issues, but hopefully I might be able to sort something out, especially with the MK1 or MK3 versions as no-one has produced one of them yet.
Have you built your Esci kit yet or is it still in the box?

Thanks Mr Bandit.
If you are looking for one of the Esci Transit kits then they are as rare as hens teeth and sell for stupid money on Ebay. The last one went for over £100!!!!!!
I was lucky and picked one up last year quite cheap. That's why I took a mould of it to make my own.

I assume by your name and photo that you like "Smokey and the Bandit"? If so, have a look at this:
It's one that I finished earlier this year.

Just a couple of photos to show my latest progress.
The last photo shows my first attempt at an early MK2 grille. Hopefully it looks OK!

I am in the process of scratch building a tipper body for the twin wheeler at the moment.
Hopefully I should have some more photos soon.

The resin casting thing isn't difficult to do, you just need time and patience to work out how to take a mould of something.
If you have a look at the 24th Scale Model Truck forum, there are a couple of threads about mould making and casting that should help.
This is just something that I have picked up over the last few months, but there are guys on there that are better at it than me!!

I have actually finished the chassis cab tipper now.
It has taken a while and tried my patience somewhat, but I think it has turned out well.
It certainly had a good reception at the IPMS show in Telford last weekend.
See what you think.

Next up is the long wheelbase van.
I think a total rebuild is in line for that one!!
More soon.
