I called the freephone number in my insurrance booklet and all got confirmed that it was just the windscreen excess of £50 to pay and the question was asked 'does it have the blue/black top tint?', my answer was 'yes' now since the black surround stuff I regarded as a top tint, as it shielded the sun around the rear view mirror I felt this was an 'honest' answer...you can see where I am going with this
Oh a sideways thing the fitter drove a Transit Connect and he said they are the crappiest things he has even driven and if it were not a works van he would never choose to buy one. The reasons were, the driving seat is uncomfortable due to the angle and the way the floor falls away, the cigarrette lighter socket is badly postioned when using the phone charger and prevents you also using the heater controls easily, the door pockets are blocked off when the door is shut, the wing mirrors self adjust (move when driving) the load sensing bushes whatever have been replaced, the turbo has been replaced, the front track rods have gone twice, the drive shaft is currently knocking/noisey, the seat tilt adjuster has broken, the window winder handles have fallen off so a good advert for that model of van. Now I know that works vans get thrashed but even so that is a lot of things and most fitters of anything like to have their van work the right way for them due to the amount of time they spend in them.
