My First Transit

Postby MrSelected » Mon Jan 15, 2007 10:05 am

Hello all,

I just took a walk to take a look at my transit, and I happened to have my camera with me. But I forgot the keys at home, which is a 3 minute walk from the parking spot my van actually fits in, so interior pics may come another time.

Image

Yes I know it has no wheel capsules, but what do you want for 1300 pounds?

Image

It's a 1995 Ft150 with 74 kW. Type: 357/3300 Don't know what 357 means but the max total weight is 3300 kgs.

Image

According to my information it should be about 5.7 meters long, anyone knows better?

Image

1824 kgs dry weight, how much torque has it got to pull that weight to normal speed?

When I find some wheels I'll fit m under the car, but how do you think it looks for now? I'm proud of it! 8)

Greets,

What rare kind of motor! 8) In case of wheels you could look here:

http://www.americanracing.com

or if you like Sunraysia style try:

http://www.roh.com.au

Other nice wheels will be hard to find in 6-stud! :(

Try to find a company here which is near to you, they might import them for you:

Is it really that rare? Thanks for the positive reactions.

Netherlands is east from the UK. Ik ben woonachtig in Amsterdam.

What does 'six stud' mean? If it's really that hard I'll just put some mondeo capsules on it.

On the picture I just had some wood in the back, not much. Today I did load it up, I even used the seats. :o And it handled it beatifully! No problems with speedbumps, and getting from 0-60 mph.

Wheels don't have any priority for me know, I first want a total technical check up and then when I have some spare money I will check out some nice rims.

Doesn't anyone know how much torque this engine got? 74 kW / 100 bhp 1995 engine. That would be some interesting information for me, I'm very curious actually.

Six stud = the number of bolts holding the wheels on,
Even with a five stud version you would be very limited to the choice of wheels, six stud alloys can be got .....if you have a contact in China ;)

Mondeo wheels will not fit unless you change all of the hubs or get adapter plates made. I have no idea of what insurrance is like in Holland but Car wheels will Invalidate many insurance policies in the case of an accident, if that doesn't worry you then think about the weight handling that car wheels are designed for against proper van/commercial ones.
