Finally got around to opening a photobucket account, but I have only one picture of the van on my 'pooter at the moment so here it is.
Image
Parked up at the Glastonbury festival 2005.
Nearly the last to leave (notice the Mk1 in the background)
:D

Chris

2.5 Di

Postby chrisvmax » Tue Oct 25, 2005 3:02 pm

This ones been changed for a 2.5 Di.
A bit slow but a tad more economical thar the original which I've been told was a V6.
Needs a bit of tidying up, but with a bit of welding it's just got through it's MOT,
Regards,
Chris

two tones

Postby chrisvmax » Tue Oct 25, 2005 9:25 pm

Unfortunately not.
No lights and no sirens.......... although the wiring seems to be still there.
Hmmm.
Maybe a project for the future!

I did see on ebay a while ago someone who sells a kit to enable your headlights to flash alternately.
£25 ish, I think.
Regards,
Chris

P.S. I'll try to get some more pictures, if it ever stops raining.

Horns and sirens

Postby tranorak » Fri Nov 04, 2005 9:23 pm

Fred asks

Plentiful supply on http://www.ebay.de (germany) just search for BLAULICHT or SIRENE :D . I've had several German Feuerwehr vehicles that sounded just like old British DeeDaw sirens before the American wailing style came into fashion. Best was a 'Hell-Sound' MARTINHORN. Sometimes you see a 'Blues & Twos' complete kit brand new. You'd probably be arrested trying to sell that stuff here but the Germans are less squeemish. One Feuerwehr Kommandant sent his mechanic up a stepladder with sticky tape and a bin liner ~ of course the Blaulicht is so bright it shines straight through a bin liner and its pretty easy to push the Siren plug back on  That was a '68 LWB gone again now
