Hi guys,
is a long time that I joined this forum to find an help and info about my MK2 transit; and now I want/like to introduce it to you (click on the link, I don't know but the right commands doesn't work)

http://web.tiscali.it/andiva/dxant.jpg

it's a 1983 with rear twin wheels; a "house" on a "130" model with york4AA diesel engine.

its name is "El Nino", in honour to the nickname of my father that lived his life dreaming a camper without having it.

I apologize for my english. I hope to explain correctly

regards at all from Italy by me (andrea) and "El Nino"

:D magnificento. you have done a good job there, and i am sure your father would be very proud and happy to think you are managing to do the things he could only dream of. i dont think i gave you any assistance as i dont tend to find myself on 1and2 much, but i am sure that everyone that did help will be only too happy to help again as and when required. oh and dont worry about the english, youve done a better job than most brits on here  obviously a transit owners weekness

thanks for welcome,
in my first post I wrote the two tags "[i m g] & [/ i m g]" (written correctly and using the bottom on top) but after "preview" the image didn't appear, so I removed them and I kept the link alone.

I joined the forum last year (and more), because I was looking for an overdrive (in fact I replaced the 4speed gearbox with a new one with overdrive) and I tried to find information about modifications on the mechanical parts.

Inside the forum I have found a link for download the service manual. Thank to this I have produced an excel file where I have calculated some parameters about real speed & rpm for each single gearbox speed. At the end I decided to spend money in that direction. Now, with overdrive, my transit "drink" less and my ears and purse are happy.

I didn't write before now because, as you can see, I'm not sure about the quality of my english (that need a theacher).
I use technical english for my work with short phrases but I never used it to speak/write for a long time. So I'm sure to have problems with times and verbs.... however I'm here to learn it writing mistakes... please bear me.

next time I'll provide to show other photos.... but I'don't want to produce an overload to the forum..

regards at all

P.S: I forget it: having more than 20 years "El Nino" is recognized as Historical Vehicle since may 2006 and is joined in the "official" register.

Don't worry about overloading the forum, as long as you are posting photos hosted on a site like phototbucket, it doesn't use the forum's bandwidth, which is why it's set up that way. If you upload the photos to phtobucket.com, you copy the bottom code under the photo and paste it into your post, nothing else needs to be added.

Hello.

Odd how a lot of mk1/2 campers look like fiat and tata campers. Nice motor though. Like the spots.
Current Transit: Mk8 tourneo Sport with go faster stripes.

Long time sold: Mk5 LWB 190, 2.5di banana SHR, 3 seats, SLD, Twin rear doors (rusted bottoms), manual locking & windows.
Well campers are definately NOT my thing but I have to ask, what is the place you did all the work as it looks like an office.?
the site where I worked on transit is a place where a my friend leave his material for his work. It's 600 square meters where I used a corner of 20/25.
Usually he work near Milan but during 2005/2006 winter, he and his team, worked in Sicily so the site/place was free of his materials, and he given me it for my work. Closed (weather was cold), with heaters (fan coils), electricity, water, some tools availables and consumables free (example: screw, cables and other). Very, but very lucky.

with this lucky I've had another lucky. Looking on the web I've found a www site (where i'm actually joined) that speaks only about old campers; it was (and it is too) the forum where I have an exchange of ideas about this topic.
