Bought spring this year, 93,000 miles. Only major problem so far was blowing exhaust manifold. Broken stud. I took head off and drilled broken stud and managed to use extractor to get remnants out ( 1st time I've used one without it breaking ). I lightly ground valves in and replaced valve stem seals ( curing smoky starts ) and replaced cam. Its not fast but cruises at 55/60 nicely, doesn't like hills. Went to Suffolk in August and averaged 28mpg. Towing trailer with bike on knocks it back to 25mpg at best.

It's not so bad if you can get a decent run up and keep her in top but if you have drop down a gear your buggered.

Think itwas ideal conditions ie no hills, constant running and taking it steady. Not matched it since. A mate tows a caravan with 2ltr volvo and he's getting similar mpg.
