1997 SWB Semi-hi Custom - SteveDSD

Postby SteveDSD » Sat May 27, 2006 6:58 am

Well, I just bought my second ever Transit, it's a Saffron yellow 1997 SWB Semi-hi Custom. There is a little bit of bodywork stuff to do, the usual rusty arches and rear doors. The electric window on the drivers door needs a new regulator and a couple of other little things which I'll be handling this weekend.

I'll be doing some more pictures in a couple of weeks after the repairs and respray. I'm hopefully going to fit some side windows if I can find them :) .

It looks like a good base to start from Steve. 8)

Are you planning another row of seats in the back then? or is it going to be a camper/day-van?

Yeah, there's going to be another row of seats in the back for ferrying my mum and her friend to bingo :) There'll also be some space for me to use my laptop and stuff for work when I'm camping. Plans are still being sorted as I'm waiting to get all the bodywork and welding done before starting inside.

I would say its actually a similar colour to Andrew-V8s

The camera may be showing too much blue, if you look at the background to the pics thay are very bluish.

Yeah could be the white balence, could also be a poor quality lens or just taken in bad light with a cheap camera

Yeah, the pictures do have too much blue, the van is Saffron Yellow and is the factory colour. The clouds from the local oil refinery must have been throwing off the colour balance. I'll try to get some pics in full sunshine when we manage to get some sunshine :)

It's a very yellow thing, it definitely needs some tinted side panel windows just to break up the banana look of it :)
