My camper

Postby simonwh » Wed Jun 07, 2006 10:20 pm

Hi

I only just joined and thought I'd post a picture and details of my transit.

Image

We bought it off ebay about a year ago and it's been a great motor so far. I've owned slower vehicles in the past but only just. It's not an outside lane thrasher by any means but it's good for a steady 60mph cruise.

Here are some facts and figures:
1989 G reg
1.6 petrol
145,000 miles
Converted to a camper in 1996
Originally a 2 berth but I've made it a 4 berth for my two lads.

Fantastic forum, by the way!!

Looks in good nick :D

So was it a van originally? or a Minibus? just trying to figure out why the top end is so low, unless the people who converted it put a different axle/diff in it to make it accellerate easier with all the extra weight. :?:

looks great, any chance of interior pics? always fancied a camper van when i was a kid- dont think i'll be taking an anglegrinder to the tourneo yet though... Just out of interest, is it a bit short on space inside (looks SWB) especially sleeping four.
