very nice indeed!! Almost identical to mine other than the bigger engine

I am amazed you are getting that sort of millage from a tank full is that from full to petrol light on? The best I have got so far 408 miles and that was being really careful, first tank was 333

Do you get a ticking sound when the wipers come on? It sounds like its coming from the passenger side area of the dash?

I love my auto lights I am surprised you don't like them, any reason behind it? I did find going under small bridges today that they come on and off and the car in front must think you are flashing them!! At least you can turn them off :)

Thanks for the close all windows tip I was unaware of that until you mentioned it 8) Lack of manual means a lot is guess work, until the dealer gets me a Mk7 manual and not a Mk6 one

How do you get the heated screen to work as I have not worked that out as yet? I am guessing at turning fan and heater to screen (IE full) or is it done of the heated mirrors switch?

Sorry for all the questions, I agree they really are great vans and you don't want to get out of them :)

oh I forgot to mention you are missing a few bits of your van being the GLX and thats the metal trims for the heater controls and steering wheel which I am sure is standard on the GLX.

They have dropped the chrome from the heater vents and the front steps. You only get the chrome on the steering wheel if you opt for cruise control.
Dont get any sounds from the wipers.
I have had a few near misses with auto headlights in my car, as people think you are flashing them to let them out etc.
Turning the heater to screen automatically brings on the aircon to demist, the heated screen is on the same switch as the mirrors.
I have got a handbook for mine but there are so many mistakes in it or equipment not covered that I have started to use it for emergency toilet paper!!
I have also removed the steel bulk head and had it rebuilt in 1" ply when the van was linned by the dealer, this gives me more leg room and some where to mount the speakers and amps (thank god for the 2nd battery option).

Thanks for the info :)

I have removed the bulk head as well, I am a floor layer so at times I need a 4m load area this means the passenger seats come out one or twice a week also, which is easy to do. I realised straight away that the bulk head restricted the adjustment of the seats because I couldn't get low enough or far away enough like I did in the Mk6 I had before.

Has your handbook got the mk6 dash pictured? and the old mk6 key fob? Just checking I have the wrong one and not just ford trying to use the mk6 handbook

How easy is it to wire the amp up? I have the second battery as well, I will keeping the original head unit but just improving the sound from it.

If you dont mind check tomorrow about the click when the wipers start, as I know a few people with this problem....I never noticed it at first until I was told about it now it irritates me!!

Cheers for the advice :)

The dice were a present from my wife, she didn't think I would put them in.
I will check the wipers 2 morrow, but I will have to turn the sounds down first

The only real problem it has had was the air con draining into the heater box and over my feet, not externally. This has happened to all new trannies with air con delivered to my dealer so far but is an easy fix to re-route the drain pipe(done by dealer).

Just filled her up again and got 441 to a tank or 401 to the fuel light. Very happy with that considering the roof rack and the load in the back :D

The ticking you can hear on the wipers is the relay behind the glove box. If you open the glove box and squeeze the sides at the back it will hinge down to reveal the relay and wiring centre.
