A few people have asked about my Turbo Gauge that I fitted so here are some pictures:

The boost gauge was really easy to fit. There is already a pipe leading from the inlet manifold to a pressure sensor on the bulkhead above the engine. I simple cut the pipe and inserted the 'T' piece supplied with the guage.

I didn't have a proper POD for the gauge so just to test it I stuck it to the dash with Blutac, it works fine so why change it!
I fitted the gauge because when I first got the van the turbo wasn't working at all and I wanted to monitor it in case it failed again.

I'm never quite sure whether to post here or in progress reports. :?
Anyway I fitted a nice new (to me) 4.63:1 axle, here it is:

 a massive well done mate ,this will give you a nice cruiseing speed now! 5.14 is a crap ratio ,just makes a van so noisey"! and as if its going along in 4th gear!

Let us know how well the Smoothrite holds up - we used it on a racing tractor chassis - and it looked really good until we spilt some petrol on it

Now it looks as though a new paintjob will be on the cards for the winter!!

I just got back from a trip to the French Alps. The new axle ratio was nice on the Autoroute but lets just say it's not a mountain gear!

Image

Here's my van parked outside where we stayed in Les Arcs. The picture doesn't really show how steep the road was and it got much narrower further up. We all pilled in the next day and I couldn't start the van moving! I had to roll back to the bottom and take a run up

Here's something that may be of use to someone. While playing about with the turbo wastegate during a recent EPIC problem I have ended up with an indicated 0.9bar of boost. Here's how I've got the wastegate adjusted:
Image

I'm not sure if it's started using more oil or not yet so I wouldn't go adjusting your's yet!
