My 93 Transit 80D Custom - Nearly finished project

I have virtually rebuilt this van apart from the perfect engine and box which is why I bought it in the first place.




The Lighter colour is Tellurite silver with royal blue flake and The darker colour is Grand Pavois with royal blue and copper flake.

I think these colours look good on a Transit, does anybody else?

That grill looks good too. Especially in that colour.

I have had too many smiley grills crack below the headlight in the past, genuine ones too, I prefer the look of the grille that is on it to a smiley and I think a bonnet badge looks better than a grille badge, but each to thier own and thanks for the response peeps.

I think it's looks pretty good, normally that age of transit are falling apart and destined for the scrapheap so it's nice to see a mint one

I'm not sure about mint, perhaps tidy, there may be too much filler in the bodywork to class it as mint

Filler... Transit... they just go together. Though any large sections of my MK1 that needed sorting out were done with stainless. I have a whole inner wheel arch in stainless (polished stuff as well, would have cost me about £150 if I had to buy it). It's a bit harder to work with, but at least I know I won't have to do it again.

Your van looks stunning 93 custom and hope to see her at future shows. Ive got a mk4 custom too and Ive fitted a mk5 rear bumper with end caps did you look at that option or did you want to keep her as original as pos

I did that yesterday actually, I always intended to, but never got round to it until I lost one of the old endcaps on the motorway on Saturday.

My local paintshop supplier sells cheap panels and other body fittings so I managed to bag the endcaps for £10 each and the bumper bar for £12 brand new, the endcaps aren't genuine ford but I knew I would be painting them and you have plenty of room for adjustment when drilling fresh holes in the arches to make them fit right.

Also the genuine ones are priced at £17 each retail with vat at my local ford dealer.

I am trying to keep this project as cheap as possible because I have a Connect project on the go and it is costing me an arm and a leg but will be worthwhile in the end.



I think it was a bargain at £1900, the new shell nearly cost me that anyway.
