I'm all for it, the planet gets more buggered up everyday and Solvents aren't very nice, so a safer alternative is welcome, obviously a solvent would evaporate quicker than water so drying times are different.

I am still using solvent based paints but I'm learning about the water borne processes to be ready for a switch.

Paintshop supply companies are making a killing out of this, because sprayshops are having to buy mixing and drying systems for the different methods.

Charging will be by an electrode in the paint (may be done by using the tube from the spray nozzle to the paint). But the receiving surgace will also need an opposite charge (so if paint made possitive, the receiving surface will need to be a negative charge). Works just like magnets, i.e. the clight charge on the paint will be attracted to the opposite charge on the receiver, so less paint is lost as overspray and less energy is needed to move the paint from the pot to the receiver.

I think... but that might be the beer talking.
