This is my van,My Mk1,it was first reg in the uk in 1968 as FGL451F, in 07-03-1977 it came to malta by a second hand dealer and had an upgraded 20 V4 engine instead of its 17 V4. Some months after my dad bought it to replace our morris 1000 van, till then its been in my hands since. Although its white, it left the factory in grey primer and was painted black by its first owner or company, whom i wish to know what was its working life in UK.
Here below is our blue double wheel 1984 model.

Granadadriver wrote:@Gerald: As you want to know something about your MK1s former working life in Britain, I think maybe it was a hearse! Delivered in primer grey and then painted black! Are there any holes remaining, intended for mounting coffin rails? Back in the sixties black was a rather unusual colour for vans, so my other thought was about a former van used by the JPS cigarette company, but I don't know what time they intended their black and gold colour scheme and if they even used Transits as delivery vans!
