It's really not nice to do the blasting. Not with the semi-pro gear and +27C temperatures and protective clothing... Should have the paint on today. Found some more holes to fix but nothing terrible.

not so much progress

Winter came suddenly and I didn't get much done on my Transit. Most of the summer passed with me building roof for the Fords.

Hello

I'm sure everybody had already given hope me ever getting anything done on my Transit. Just another lost case. But the rumors of me giving up are greatly exaggerated! There has just been a pause of some years... I've had the engine running a couple times every year. Some welding has been done on LH floor and sill, doors have been replaced and new fender is hanging on. I opened the rear brake drums last sunday and new shoes and cylinders are going in. I learned that saab95/Mini cylinders fit straight on and I got new ones for 7,5€/piece. Not bad.

Weather is a bit on the cold side. It was -18C when I opened the brake drums. But with the right clothing everything is possible. Being fat also prduces some heat when moving around

The most dramatic turn with the Transit so far has been an incident where a fender fell off and made a dent on my wifes precious 2010 focus. Luckily she found a large rock on a parking lot a few months later wich destroyed the bottom portion of front door and door sill. The small dent from the fender was on that same door that had to be replaced and I won't be reminded about falling parts anymore :D

Glad to see another pickup saved. I drive mine as much as I can and it brings a smile to my face. It's still a work in progress I think we will always be looking for mk1 parts.
There is something about a mk1 that I haven't had with any other mark.
