Wow, so where has it been all these years?
So the chap fell asleep, did he come off better than the van? just thinking about seatbelts in the 70s!
Great project and if I ever come across a scrap one with the parts you need I will let you know.

He seemed OK, but i didn't meet him for twenty years after the accident! In conversation however he did say that his 18 year old daughter had just died, and that she had brain damage. He didn't spell it out, but I strongly suspect that she was in the passenger seat, and would have been about four at the time. Another suspicion would be that he couldn't bring himself to get rid of the van whilst she was alive. Every van has a story eh?

thats gotta be worth doing. dont remember the last time I saw a mk1 LWB panel van. It may need re-jigging but it would be a shame to scrap one thats survived this long

You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Oh ALRIGHT! I can;t keep a secret. She went up to Rotherham for repair back in january. Now has no front roof, wing, pillar or engine!! I wanted it to be a suprise, and prefer to post the finished van! She's getting there.....

with out seeing it or better pics id say it looks worse than it actually is if you have the roof section . think that wing will need a :lol: little panel beating:lol: do you have a wing and door...
a body dozer would probably be a big help if you can get use of 1 if you were a bit closer i would say pop it round i have one..
i also have a couple of guys who do jobs like this from time to time but its a bit out your way. :(

The upper roof section and A pillar has been taken off a Mk2 to get the line right, part of the dash and firewall will be Mk1 off our camper.
