Work for myself Bondy, part what? I'm sixteenth edition so dont need it. Part P is really for the plumbers/kitchen & bathroom fitters and anybody that refurbs or Sparkys without the qualifications. Its a step in the right direction if you ask me, ive seen some horrific installations in the past and Part P should weed out the men from the boys. Every House in the country will have to have an "MOT" cert when they sell eventually.

I agree with you on that, it stops alot of the cowboys. They are even clamping down on people doing there own plumbing.

part p is the new building reg that came into force jan 2005. it affects all domestic installers. there are a few exceptions though. i read in proffesional electrician that they have just prosecuted 2 people for not complying. are you registered with the niceic or elecsa, etc.

that wont be happening that soon mate as they cant get the equipmant made in time  they had it back in the 80's but it was crap then and will be this time round   fensa already con us out of £££ with all the registering jobs  there absolute c**p we register jobs and they never get processed or we get job's from manchester and newcastle added to our account and then they tell us we registered them  dont think so somehow we would know if we travelled 200+ miles to do 2x doors   all just a big money making scam by the goverment  at the end of the day fensa was set up to get rid off cowboy window installers it hasnt worked at all as they just dont register with fensa   a to top it all fensa is meant to be a charity

and theres no point in argon filling units or triple glazing as the compulsory 'k' class does the job of quad glazing  just going to need a 7.5t truck to go and glaze a house of windows
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

wether its corgi, fensa or part p. it is another way for tony blair to see what work you are doing. each job you do has to be registered through a body which has been licenced by the goverment. maybe its me being too cynical.
