Erm, what? :? If you have ever tried to grow flowers by burying a Mk2 transit, I would not like to see your garden. Have you been shut in a room with no windows and a TV that only shows Groundforce continually????!!!!

Took her up to UK Street Vans at Billing at the weekend, she was as good as gold. I think the fuel gauge undereads though. Respray next week, so I will be finishing a bit of the bodywork off, not to mention a bit of the wheel arch that fell off at the run after Kieth poked it!!!

Remember this..........?

BEFORE

It now looks like this..................

AFTER

I will change the handle eventually, but probably after the respray.

I'm well pleased, but I am sure our body man won't be, given how much filler was involved!!!

You're kidding, this is a stage 1 blow over! The proper stuff (sills and add more metal) will come later, when the real body man comes back off holiday, and gets through his backlog!

I spent £9 on filler, trade price. Show me where I can get a wing for nine quid, and I will have 3 pairs! Oh, and the step, and the sills. I will get them done properly by the end of the summer, just wanted her tidy. And I may have a part for her in a film. And I don't think that £9 will touch the sides on Kay..........

To be honest I like this bus, better if was a panel van :D but its a grand old thing and it looks pretty good really, I remember doing repairs like that to our phase1 MK2 and it lasted all the time we had her, we fitted new doors and planned on new wings, bonnet, sills and steps but we bought the phase2 2000 custom cheap at £900, apart from a brokem front indy she was showroom!

Getting There!

Postby FredTransit » Sat Jul 16, 2005 6:39 pm

She's out of the paint shop, just a blow over. Taking her on the cruise tomorrow. Don't look too close, you will see the filler and the runs.............

major stroke of luck down at the scrappie, found a set of Mk2 bus seats at the back of a shed (need them for an upcoming job), £50!!. Only went in to have a look cos I heard there were some brand new panels in there. Didin't find them though, and had to empty the shed to get at the seats.
