Mk 2

Postby Terry » Mon Sep 11, 2006 8:09 pm

I THINK he means it's in a breakers yard !
Suggest you Mk 2 fans get him to buy it & hold it till' you get a party to dismantle it & return to the U.K. with a van full of parts.
(Bringing the vehicle in 'whole' subject to age will incur 'special vehicle tax')........ otherwise I would offer to trailer it back ! :)
I got a little black book with me poems in

What's that all about, 'special vehilce tax'? Sounds like having to buy tickets to the Customs and Excise christmas party after been stopped at Dover! Vehicles brought in to the UK no longer have import duty, classic or not. Also, you can come into the UK from the Ec with a vehicle without penalty, in the meantime you just register the vehicle in the UK, legally or not.

they were converted by County Tractors in the UK, German vans were converted by another company in Germany. I don't know about Spain and other countries.

Special Vehicle Tax

Postby Terry » Mon Sep 11, 2006 8:42 pm

Suggest you check it out Fred, I thought the same as you, but what the EEC says, Mr Blair says, F*** you I'll do what I want. Yes 'classic' vehicles do avoid it under certain circumstances, (it's only 20% :? )
