My new toy,an ex-police 1988 2.9i v6 minibus.
it needs a good clean, but considering that it has stood in the corner of a yard for a few years, its in remarkably good condition.

just finished cleaning the outside of the bus.
Outside didnt take long, but i think it was last used as a building crew transport cos im gonna need a shovel to clean the interior :)
the only rust i can find on it is a very small patch on the front n/s arch, slight rust appearing on rear n/s arch and a 1 inch diameter patch of surface bubling on rear crossmember.
i
t looks like it has spent most of its life after leaving the police fleet as a disabled ambulace as it has the remains of the mountings for a wheelchair lift and the locking rails on the floor to clamp wheelchairs.

the exhaust looks new, the front steering link rod is brand new with the labels still intact.
i only bought it to pull apart for the engine, but its the cleanest tranny ive ever had.

i think my hicube is gonna get converted to a mobile workshop, and ill use the bus for daily use, shows and such.

been wondering whether to plate over them windows so the side is smooth, or cut those bits out of my spare hicube and stitch them in so it has the indentation (the rear quater of 88 lwb looks the same as 96 hicube rear quater)

Classy! I really like the blue string repair, makes me wonder why I bothered having ours welded after the police extras stomped all over the seat mounts and put it throught the wheel arch...............
