Camper mk1 update

Postby camper extraudinair » Sun May 19, 2019 3:00 pm

Hi Do you remember me from about five years ago, i stopped posting because i moved
down south, and because i have been so busy working on the new bungalow & having
a workshop built i have hardly had time to use my Transit or even to work on it,
so here is an update on progress so far, since i last posted i have fitted another drivers
seat & full seat harness as i kept sliding out of the old captains seat as i tend to drive
it a bit lively when the mood takes me, i have fitted a toyota celica one which is a leather
bucket seat, also while doing that i fitted some underlay & floor carpet which i cut & edged
my self, also i mounted the new seat on an adjustable mounting out of a black cab which
is fully adjustable in all directions including up & down, it took me a week to modify & weld
to suit the original floor mounting & the seat, here is some pics of said work will post more
later, Happy Transiteering to you all.
ps the wife did'nt want to change hers

I’ve got the same van and at 6’4” I’m struggling to figure out how to layout the sleeping etc arrangements. Have you any pictures of your living quarters?

Look nice, and I bet it sounds even better. Plenty effortless torque? 8)

Hi Old yellar, when i give it a bit of stick lots of people look, it has a straight through
exhaust but is'nt that loud to be honest, from 1500 revs it takes off like a car consider
ing it weights in at 3.1 tons it has lots of Torque & about 220 bhp.

We were both saying the other day we really miss being able to go to meets, so sounds like a plan for once this madness is gone lol

I hate predictive text, I typed ray and it autocorrected to Roy! Needless to say, I’ve just seen that, so my apologies too!
Keep safe, and I’m sure we’ll all meet up again soon
