My MK6 Transit

Postby roscodog18 » Fri Dec 14, 2007 10:55 pm

Well i thought I would post a pic of my van.......this is it 'between' signs..........my wife is a signwriter so it changes often!

2001 Mk6 T300 LWB medium roof 2.0 turbo FWD Irish import I have owned it since new, always run on Mobil 1
modifications include , 225 tyres all round, 30% tints on the door windows, JVC CD player, Tom Tom, factory fitted carpets, rversing sensors, fully lined with bulkhead, ice blue bulbs, glazed back windows are limo black and as you can see anti Gatso numberplates :D

things to do include hubcaps as the wheels are getting rusty and a lack of power ......possibly air mass meter or turbo...
Never had paint! Not bad looking for over 200,000 miles? I have always serviced it myself.....

Yeh, Just get the correct rim size.
All you need to do is remove the centre caps from the wheels.
I've seen a few mk6 with those new trims 8)

Actualy no photoshop at all......Number plate back grounds are made from Scotchlite refective vinyl.....front is white back is yellow and the numbers are flat black...however if you use Scotchlite black............both the back ground and the letters are reflective........so when a gatso ( or the flash on my Nikon SLR ) goes off .....the whole numberplate overexposes as you can see! The photo above was taken at dusk ......hence the camera automaticaly used the flash.
I don't sell number plates so this is not a sales pitch and I have no axe to grind....but having a signwriter wife has some advatages

Zoom in on the photo and see if you can see the reg no.........it is a private plate!

This is the numberplate...zoomed in...the actual plate is 6 years old.you can see at the top/middle where water has started to get into the plate....it has a blue outline to match the colour of my van..you can just see this

Sneaky bugger ;)

Err, so where can you get the Scotchlite tape from and would it not show up as white in the lights of a following plod car?

What you need to find is a plate maker will will use black Scotchlite numbers/letters instead of standard non reflective black.
Quite a few sign makers also produce numberplates......do a google search for show plates ( as they are not road legal)............
They look 'normal' until hit by bright direct sunlight or a powerfull flash ( a gatso :D )then as in the photo everything reflects.

I have been stopped because of illegal spacing of the numbers/letters on my plates but the traffic cops did not notice that they were anti gatso.

The new signs are on the van now.......I will post up a pic tomorrow.

careful cos with signs on they can identify you and just ring the number on the back or check it via bt/company house. they can even enhance the photo for distinguishing marks they will then come round and shove pepper spray up you ass and hit you with every speeding fine they can find with a blue van in just to prove a point. my mates a traffic cop and has had to do this to people.
even he hates doing it. the police dont wanna waste time with this sh*t either but they have government targets to hit.
