It's a Transit, why would you bother looking for rust


Seriously, only a dodgy amateurish remap would leave the engine light on, and with this engine sometimes being prone to piston failure from overfuelling, I would be wary of any fiddling with the fuelling, that's not been done correctly

Ive not been cursed at yet..........but its coming, i was plastering the other day and aa much as i try to keep it clean it seems my dust sheets are invisible lol

Whats the opinion on a mk6 transit? Im going to consider a older van if the mileage is right, seen a 55plate semi high top swb with around 80,000 miles on it............didnt want to go older than my 06 connect but if a low mileage mk6 came along.............................

The mk6 is OK unless you get a Southampton built van as they suffer more with rust, I like mine even though its evil and will kill me one day I'll ask one of my customers what he has and let you know.

Hi guys possibly a daft question here but go easy on me!

In my search for a transit im putting the mot checker to good use and im getting a feel for what to avoid.........such as dodgy mileage, but i have discounted a few vans based on a few previous advisories when it come to corrosion on the sills/body.

My question is if a van has a few fails/advisorys in a previous year but has since passed a mot with no mention of the corrosion has it been treated/welded up ect, or just had a dodgy test put on it!..................i dont want to waste hours and fuel driving to see a van thats rotten
