whats the best engine to look out for when buying a mk5

Postby FADMUKER » Fri Jun 29, 2007 6:21 pm

I am looking for a mk5,
whats the best engine to look out for when buying ?
I live in manchester and I am looking locally, any out there??

as I am already wazed off with going to look at "its mint mate" vans,
only to get there and find its the sh*t thats holding it together!!

I think I will put an ad in the trader asking for
a batered van with a dint in every panel and each panel out of alignment, must have an oil leak,
with dried and split bushes,
bald tyres, and the spares been stolen by some bag head to feed his habit!
copious amounts of bog on every arch,
the doors must be like burnt parchment on the bottoms,
and a chip in the windscreen,
not forgetting the seat rips, wing mirrors smacked in,
and smells like bernard mannings underpants! "god rest his soul"

and if I see one more "very clean inside and out" van with three gallon of paint pissed up the inside and out the back doors I'm gonna end up doin a long lie down in strangeways for murder
ALWAYS BUY A VAN MY SON !
YOU CAN ALWAYS EARN WITH A VAN!!

The best engine for the mk5 is the rare TCI115PS but any turbo mk5 is a good drive, the 85/100ps turbo is good

70/76ps bana non turbo is gutless and worthless to drive

No matter what people say the 70ps is a good engine

If you want a good reliable bombproof engine then go for a 70ps. be warned you will not get a speending ticket and hills may be a problem.

If you want all out power then go for a turbo but beware of the EPIC :x

An odd ball ECU / Pump set up, that most garages can't be bothered to invest in the correct POD to be able to read any possible fault codes.
That's all :D
They sit there guessing as to what's wrong and simply point to this Lucas E lectronically P rogrammed I njection C ontrol, saying it's pants

It's no different to any other system on the market, apart from the fact it can't be diagnosed by just "anybody" with a code reader

I went from a 70PS to a turbo :D There is NO looking back :!: :D
