help on changing a low swb for a mwb hr

Postby vinnie » Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:35 pm

hello all. The forums already been a real help in sorting out a few problems ive been having with my 2001 260swb lr 100psi. which leads me into my question.

i,ve had my current van for two years and its had a few wee niggles-gear box mounting, bearings, solinoid ,egr valve and more importantly rust ( it originally came from scoland and i heard that scottish vans rust more-as more snow then more salt on the roads) . I ,ve used it every day to carry my kayaks and windsurfing equipement and would occasionally sleep in it.i It has 140k miles on the clock and i keep knocking my head on the roof. time to change.

As im hoping to convert it into some kind of camper i'm thinking of moving up to a mwb high roof van. I'm looking to trade in the old van and was wonderign how much i could ask for-would £2500 be ok. i have another 3k to spend and am not vat registered. would that be round about enough? i loved the wee bit of power i have with the 100 psi and have been looking at a 90 350. would i lose out much. i wouldn't be carrying much weight though. my last concern is loss in mpg for a high top. is that much more noticeable?

Well thats my life story sorted. if anyone can help chhers
