i have a ford book that says transit 92 and transit 95 and transit,2000

so thats how they must know them :?
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

... so it is maybe the most compatibile naming.... 1986, 1992, 1995,2000,2006


...only it cant be mixed with production year of every piece :)

... e.g. will be written "transit model 1995, year 2000" :)

Try walking into a Ford parts dept and and asking for something for a transit 95 or 2000. The first thing they will do is ask if that's the build year. :lol:

you have to tell "model 95", not only "95" :)

fred when i go for parts i ask for mk5 transit parts and i get them except the once when some 10yr old gave me a starter that would struggle to turn a 1100 fez over :roll: on the odd occasion they dont know what im on about i just say the smiley van :D decnt parts blokes know what you mean but they are getting rare now :(

I think you might find that the starter they gave you could be the right one! I have had them before, the parts places claim they have better gearing, but they last about 2 months on the Di. I always reject them, in favour of the old style 10lb monsters, Midnight Motors now save them for me! Unfortunately the '10 year olds' are peopleing the parts places, try telling them the van is older than they are (Mk2) and watch thier faces drop! Those are the types you have to protect yourself from, if in doubt use the build year. Typically it's the year before it was registered.

no fred the starter was defo the wrong one as the holes were about 2 inches out :shock: i took it back and his comp said transit/p100 :roll: :roll: anyway gave me the revised small di starter and that was when i joined the forum nothing but hassle only lasted a few weeks at a time eventually got a good un as the ones they were supplying me with were recons :shock: so complained and got a lucas( i think) and no probs since even tho its a small one :? as you say the big starters are the best :D

I saw Transit with frontmask "92-94" (MK4) with SWB and long rear overhang - so it does mean, that LWB was being produced from cca. 1993?
