Should i buy?honesty please

Postby vannabe » Mon Jan 26, 2009 11:59 pm

Hi all,am looking to buy a used mk7 2.2 85ps swb medium roof transit. This is the ideal size for what i want to use it for and should just be within my budget if i buy at auction. The question is should i buy one of these vans? A few people have told me that these vans are full of problems and the last thing i want to do after parting with my hard earned cash is part with even more on expensive repairs. At the moment i have a 1999 Toyota Hiace with 11100 miles on the clock,i've had it for 3 years and it hasn't caused me a bit of trouble apart from being slow and quite thirsty,so will out with the old and in with the new be the best policy,,honest answers please..

Size is one thing, what about the payload :?:

What are you gonna use it for :?:

That one model can be a 260, 280, 300 or 330 :!:

I'm not that bothered about payload,i will only be using it for leisure purposes,a van suits my needs more than a car as i can throw all my camping, cycling and fishing gear in it without worrying about getting seats dirty etc.It may get the odd few bags of cement and a few plasterboards thrown in but i will never be using it for anything really heavy..

unless you buy one with high miles most MK7 vans will still be under warranty. I have one myself and our company has ten and we have had no major problems just stupid things like key fobs and egr valves
