Postby Nathan_Cardiff » Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:58 pm

Currently looking for a newer van that the Mk6, Its going to be a Mk7 SWB and preferably not a white one im fed up of washing it.

Which engine is the best one to go for and why?
Also if anyone is looking to sell there Mk7 SWB give me a shout but it must be a good spec one with elec pack etc, not to bothered about alloys.

Cheers

Or a 130, if your Mk6 is anything other than a 125 Tdci you'll be blown away by the 130/140ps Mk 7's.
The 130/140ps models don't slow for hills and driven gently can still crack 40+ mpg, find a Glx/Limited/Sportvan and enjoy the benefits of A/c but be aware the sportvan is very heavy on its tyres, good luck with the search :)

Imagine a swb rwd lowered with the 200ps re-mapped to 258ps and de-restricted and pimped to sportvan spec, that would be the weapon to destroy Sport-X Vito's and 174ps transporters. Now where's that lottery ticket gone...

And with RWD the tyres would last all year! Don't think I'd want to lower myself to sportvan specs though :0

A 130/140 will get you to 90(on a private road) twice as quick at least as your current van and an aircon equipped Glx should be well within your budget
