Theres no run forever reputation on these as far as i know :|

Make sure it runs absolutely perfectly. instant start , quiet, pulls strong, smoke free etc... drive a few before this one to make sure ....check to see if its had bits replaced on the the engine.. no history often means patchy history thrown away so question the owner hard

Get someone who knows Ford TDCI's to check it out ...

Like with many common rail engines - injectors are £1000 a set & can cause further damage if they fail..

There's a member on here that said dont touch 135's (from a reliability point of view.) I think it was transitgeoff, i would write to him directly just to be sure.. he is a breaker so will have a good idea of what fails on them

I read somewhere that TDCI injectors need "attention" every 100-120k, is there any truth in that Coconut ? i am looking for a mondeo diesel at the mo & the amount on ebay with supposedly terminal engine problems was shocking... all between 1 & 200 k recorded miles

I wouldnt say thats gosple, but its a pretty good guide for the ones ive changed recently, RWD tdci injectors do tend to last alot longer than FWD's for some reason :?

The 135ps with the 6speed box and the big DANA rear axle is a strong beast when running but needs proper servicing to keep right. The biggest issue with them is the Delphi injectors and the engine harnesses which were maid in Turkey. The wirring quality is not very good and you develop a lot of injector circuit problems which short the high side drivers which cause the system to shut down. The way the system is originally calibrated (PCM software) you run RAIL-Pressures of 800-1200 bar normally and constantly around 1600-1880 bar under load,Delphi injectors don't like this and the seats at the fuel control chamber tend to fail much faster than normal (60,000-70,000 miles).Take your IDS along and look for injector driver faults, injector trim faults and injector correction out of range and rail pressure control faults.
When you hook up look at the the fuel control at idle, when these systems are working well, with all ancillaries turned off they will idle at 3.5-4.5 mg/str with fueling offsets of 2 mg/strk max, anything higher walk away.

IF your cylinder balancing off-sets are sitting at zero that's excellent but not common.
What is your spec vehicle ? and what tool are you using to look at the system ?

125tdci fitted into MK6 280 75ps FWD.

that was after i'd had my injectors recond and thought one had knacked up straight away, took it to the diesel specialists that did the injectors, they tested injectors again and said they where fine, put them back in and was still missing, put there delphi software on and showed me the readings all where at 0 apart from the no.3 cylinder, they said it must be my cylinder or piston.
checked the connections again and found a tiny bit of plastic had broke off letting the copper tabs move apart to much. soldered new plug on then all was fine all at 0.

The front wheel drive units are very smooth once the injectors are working correctly and the corrections are loaded properly.
I noticed you called it a 75ps (125 TDCI is 125PS),are you referring to the chassis.
Did your injector specialist explain the drive cycle to aid in injector corrections updates ?
