im no expert but if you were a builder ,then it would earn its money before next mot even if it got scrapped then..if your planning to convert it then its still a good deal..i think any mechanically sound mk5 with a good amount of mot is worth at least 500 squids even if its no oil painting (they all rust )

how come? are they difficult to get insured?

but no, thought normal insurance for transit would be fine!!
