Help: which Transit ?? 85ps or 125ps

Gentlemen........and ladies - Please turn your expertise to help with the following questions:

Im buying a new 2nd hand transit (all are 2004\05) to convert to a weekend camper and have the option betwen many 85ps's (td) and one 125ps (tdci). From a reliability and MPG viewpoint what do I go for ? I realise the 2.0 125ps tdci will be heavier on fuel.............but by how much if its driven carefully??

or....will they be similar given that the tdci is supposed to be a more economical engine ?

OR - just how gutless or able is a standard 85ps ??

1 last question - how reliable is the 2.0 tdci compared to the 2.0 td engine ????

the tdci is the one to go for ,and is no difrent on fuel
i have run mine for 3 years now and has been very good and also had upto 45mpg on a run!

So, there are no actual technical problems with the tdci that you are aware of ? The injection system is not more prone to failure being electronic and pressurised ? The van im looking at is 125ps, 2005 and 58,000 mls.

Im guessing all the new transits are tdci right ?.......the future ???

yes they are all tdci i have had no problems with injection attal on mine so far! the 85ps is ok but if you have the chance of a 125ps i would go for it ,if not get the 100ps engine !
