Want to be a Tranny

Need a Tranny to get to work like yesterday.
Thought of Peurgeot Partner, Vauxhal Vivaro but everybody says nothing does it like a Transit.
Always had a soft spot for them and they seem to be the dogs bollocks.
need to get one hopefully in the next week.
Wanted to pay 5 grand for a 2005 with 30,000, miles, been told to go back to the drawing board.
Been on e-bay and Vantrader.
Considering old or new model but the more i look at it the newer the beter.
Want a short wheel base .
Where is the best place to look and should i consider a new one as a last resort.
Saw one for 8 grand 2007 with 25,000 on the clock, should this be considerd.
Easter break coming up so off Fri and Mon so not many van places may be open.
Live in South Lanarkshire Scotland.
Any advice on where to get one and where to look with an idea of price.

Just remeber that with Transits there is always another one around the corner, or at the next dealer, so don't just buy the first one you see

Every one i try they all gone so have to get a higher mileage or think of getting one south of the border, even the dealers, one sold 4 SWB transits and another 20 which was a good month, problem is replenishing their stock.



Been told that new type transits have diff problems, is this true

I am a Tranny Man now.
She is minted.
Sent the other half down south of the border on easy jet before the volcanic dust hit LOL.
Only problem i had was the gear selector linkage that snapped after a week which is just a bit of brake cable with a plastic ball joint at either end cost me £105 and the RAC man told me where to get the part and how to fit it.
Reckon it is a design fault as the new one had a steel rod in it where the last one broke.
Lost the N/S miror insert when i was going to work and clipped the mirror on a branch which was at the side of the road.
Do i take out the racking as i do like it and it does seem to support the roof/ladder rack which is bolted to it through the roof on rubber mounts.
Only got a radio cassete player in it at the moment, is it hard to put a new one in.
T85/300 94 18,500 miles,
And i love her to bits.

Easy to change the stereo just look for a Ford 6000 CD from a Focus/Mondeo of similar age, you can remove the racking but keep the roof rack if you want, someone will buy the racking, Yes gear cables is a common problem, but an easy fix. New mirror glass will just clip in, buy one on ebay

or you get ones that cover the old glass, I bought one at partco for a fiver
