Turbos are like any other Transit, fine as long as they have been properly looked after by someone who understands the Epic system and doesn't just throw the pump in the bin at the first sign of trouble

I hope its okay but with my paranoia and in my limited experience i would be aware of the fact there are another 7 vehicles in the pic of which at least 1 is/has been broken/stripped  i would then wonder who in their right mind would replace all the panels and then respray it with their eyes closed :?: If it don't need much for the mot why didn't he pre mot it? I see he doesn't mention anything that would lead you to believe he has had it very long,i'd get right under the van on the viewing day and have a right old poke around........Oh and 1 last thing there were over 1000 other people viewed the ad and you were the lucky winner

Good luck i do hope its a good un :D

hi all still not picked up or seen it yet, but decided to be safe rather than sorry  and asked the seller if he would be prepared to take it to his local garage and book it in for mot for me at my expense, told him due to being an hour and a half's drive from me did not want to risk driving it back without mot, my thinking was if he was not prepared to take it there prob a good bet its a lemon, and if he did then he is not trying to hide anything , fair enough it may need a few hundred spent on it as long as it passes its emmisions test , the add says no rust!!!!!! ummm  doubt that but if fails big time on that well he wont be getting his money, may cost me 50 for mot but better than loosing all my money and making a useless trip wasteing fuel. any way as it stands the guy dropped it at a local garage :D and i need to phone them in the morning. so i wait and hope there is not to much to get her through .

looks like you were right ripbuster about all those other cars and vans about in various stages of dismantlement. just spoke to garage and asked them to put it through mot and also asked if they knew of the van or if they had it in before, to which he replied well yes and no he knows the engine but not the van apprently the seller had another van he was using and the rot got to much so trasferd engine into current shell . so anyway iam not sure this is out of my knowledge area now, is there any legal process that needs to be completed in order to do this ie papperwork i need to be checking . should i be worried :!: should i just give it miss :!: even if it passes its mot :!: . what do you think :?: :?

Personally i would leave well alone, there are plenty of good vans out there, don't waste your time or money, seller cannot force you to buy it especally if the MOT centre tells you it's a shed

hi trigger true about making me buy it hence doin it this way .of course we could look at i from another point of view if your any sane normal person your not goin to take a good engine and put it in a rust bucket you would take it out of rust bucket and put it in a good shell , any way find out tomorrow if passed mot and if it does promised to chuck the mot guy 20 notes if he takes it for a spin and gives me his honest verdict. so time will tell

:( no good failed mot 300 worth of welding needs doing and various other fails and advisories, oh well at least i still have my money and no trip over there :) not sure what to do now :? keep thinking maybe just find out how much it will cost me to get my current mk3 lwb how i want it but know its going to break the bank doing it,as it needs pannels, wings etc and really a repaint pref spray but rustolium would do to keep costs down but cant weld never really tried am ok with electrics but frustrates the hell out of me  as an ex aircraft engineer if the vans were rivited together i would be fine  mechanical and interiors are more my area of experties and i dont have a lot of spare time at the moment or money hence why i am looking for a better van where i can just concentrate on mods engine, interior and exterior . so guess i better keep looking :D

It sounds to me like he knew it needed all that done for MOT and that's why he didn't put it in for one, at least you havent wasted your money on a shed and you have the funds still to buy a much better one
