This is not a major fault, but can have things grind to a hault at an inoppertune moment!

Stick your head in the glovebox,a nd take a good sniff. If there is a waxy hot plastic smell, the first main junction of the wiring loom is probably on it's way out. It runn accross the back of the glove box. It's easly replaced with a high amp connector block (I've done it myself) and can fail at any time, resulting all of the electrics going off.

Also, if it wont fire and start.......

your first port of call should be the ballast resistor on the inner wing (drivers side usually)......

They always go at innopertune moments, but are still available through LSUK or other parts companies......

Believe it or not, I've not had that happen, though we have had the ignition module pushed in too far, towed it for 10 miles, then fiddled with the module if she went!!

HELLO! That's Mk2 Mark, so no, you won't have got one! (though I would have thought the looms were basically the same)
