This is not a major fault, but can have things grind to a hault at an inoppertune moment!
Stick your head in the glovebox,a nd take a good sniff. If there is a waxy hot plastic smell, the first main junction of the wiring loom is probably on it's way out. It runn accross the back of the glove box. It's easly replaced with a high amp connector block (I've done it myself) and can fail at any time, resulting all of the electrics going off.
