which transit to buy ?

Hi I'm thinking of buying a 2002 vh transit 2.4 turbo diesel semi auto, I like to know if this a good reliable model, or should i go for a different model, is diesel better then petrol, is semiauto better then manual ?any help will be great ,t/you.

semi auto is much more rare so if and when it goes wrong it will be expensive compared to a manual box

Personally I would avoid the semi auto transmission

They are ok while they work (nothing like a real auto transmission) but when they go wrong, the dealers can't fix them and they can cost as much as buying another van, if they do
