Just registered... am going to change my LDV convoy minibus this year for a 15 seat transit (probably). My LDV has the 90ps duratorq and its great but not exactly quick (esp with my caravan) so will be looking for 115+ PS. I will be looking at spending about 10K max as its our main family car and will regularly do 600mile round trips at night with kids to visit relatives - so needs to be good ... I got a few general questions - hope someone can help
Is it worth seeking out the newer larger headlight model with the more modern dash or were the older smaller headlight ones pretty similar? any real advantages?
I will be wanting to alter / remove some of the seats to make a lounge area for picnics and beach days etc and wanted to know has anyone managed to fit a swivel base to the single offside seat on row 4 (or does anyone think its possbile given clearances etc)?
I was thinking of turning the double in row 4 to face backwards (and not use it as a travel seat) - do the mounts work either way? anyone done this succesfully?
Finally I realise Transits has different diff ratios as options - is there a "good" one for reasonably happy cruising on the 62mph limiter and what revs would show on the clock at 62 so I can tell what is fitted? Would this still tow OK? - I'm guessing 1st is pretty low on all of them... but I really don't want it to be too high revving at 62 as I am hoping to gain a fair bit of refinement with the change in bus
