14 day vdrs form on new truck

Postby 3037.tm » Mon Apr 11, 2011 3:28 pm

hi i apologise if this is not the right section for this question but i have recently bought a transit that had a broken headlight and broken indicator, both have been replaced and it passed its full mot last week, however i have have since discovered from a friend of a friend that the previous owner was pulled up in my truck when he owned it and was given a 14 day vdrs form and told get the work done or ul appear in court... needless to say the work was neither carried out by him or within the set 14 days as i bought it 3 weeks later and did the work myself, now with the previous owner being the type of guy that wont turn up in court anyway does anybody know or have any idea of whether a marker or anything would have been placed on the vehicle as i could do without being pulled up needlessly if i could help it as theres always that chance(and knowing my luck i will) that ul get the b**tard thats had the bad day and will be even more p*ssed off when i burst his bubble by not being the man who failed to appear in court so will pick my truck to pieces and keep me there for ages.... i have contacted the police and was told by the receptionist that it is a dvla matter and to contact them but on doing so i was told by the dvla that it is a police matter and they are responsible.... AAAAARGH!!!!...... WHAT DO I DO!!

The enforcement notice would have been done under the old owners name so i shouldn't worry as long as you have proof or date of transfer
