Transit advice required please...

Postby AndyRVTR » Mon Dec 24, 2012 8:19 pm

Hi all, new to the site and hoping to get some advice regarding Transits.
Basically I'm after a Transit for my new business, (landscape gardening) but i'm struggling on what type to get, mwb or lwb, model, obviously I need to keep costs down, tax, fuel etc, so can anyone suggest any that are more fuel efficient, tax efficient, stronger engines etc.
I only have £2k to spend, so I'm looking for anything from an 02' plate, but I know I'm not gonna get anything above an 05' plate (at a push), but is there any particular kind I need to be looking for.
One final thing, I will need to carry the odd dumpy bag of sand/dolomite/soil around so it needs to be able to handle the weight too.
Looking forward to your answers everyone, thankyou.

A nice ex RAC van will take weight :) (They are normally SWB though)
Would normally have a tow bar too, just in case you may want to tow a trailer for all the rubbish

Ford Transit 120 TDI EPIC Automatic. 0-60 in a leisurely and smooth 12.7 seconds and 1/4 mile in 19.1 seconds. Now where's all these faster? manual Di s?
