im looking to buy a 51plate lwb ford luton van. and have found one with a smiley 2.5 di engine conversion. Is there anything i need to know about these types of conversions on luton vans before i buy. The new conversion engine has 78000 miles ...however the original engine had done 92000, so im assuming i need to find out if the fly-mast wheel has been changed and clutch. I am a complete novice with regards to these types of vehicles and would be grateful if somebody could give me some advice

do you mean Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF)? I dont think the Di had it so I would say its a solid flywheel.
If you can prove the age of the engine, the emissions will be tested on that year for the MOT. If not it will be on the registration year.

Just make sure the conversion has been properly done, and that everything, including the speedo works
