Buying a new transit?

Postby glasgowdan » Sat Jul 21, 2018 9:49 pm

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm considering actually buying a NEW transit! I've never thought I'd look at a new vehicle, but second hand prices of 2-3 year old customs are so high that new really isn't such a big step up from them.

But I've no idea what I should know before going to a dealer. What options are needed or worthwhile, can you haggle, etc? I can imagine the dealer would be looking after their own interests when it comes to added options and so on. How flexible are they likely to be to accept a high deposit and lower finance?

And which dealers to go for? Do they all offer the same deals?

Help!

Bump.

My question is do all the dealers offer same van price or will some cut margins / add extras to win a sale?

To answer original poster. (If I've understood correctly in my search)
Dealers all offer Ford finance so nothing between them on that. Will accept any deposit over 10% of van value plus all the vat. Obviously the more you put down the less interest you pay. But also you can overpay to clear debt earlier without penalty.
