this is a fault with lots of mk1 and2 so veiw it in the dry and the rain it may just be a poor rubber but it also could be rotten under the rubber

I always fitted front screenrubber seals with the crome plastic strip inserted in the middle, a bugger to fit but fitted very tight and dry.

Some of you may already know, but you can buy new screen rubbers from "East Kent Vintage Trim" in Deal. I've just bought one for my mk2 for about £30 including P&P. They sell a lot of other classic Ford rubbers and seals too. They advertise in "Classic Ford" magazine most months.

Be very, very careful when fitting a new rubber with an old screen, lost 2 screens doing this, I wouldn't do it again!

screen leaks

Postby Neil » Tue Oct 25, 2005 11:20 pm

tried that mark no different im convinced that leaks are down to mechanics jackin and liftin the van incorrect and bouncein up and down kerbs anything like this makes the body twist and loosens seals
