08 Reg Tourneo 2.2TDCI 110PS GLX 9 Seater

Hi Fella's,

I'm looking at buying the above model for use as an executive style taxi minibus. I'm considering having it converted for wheelchair access.

As a complete novice with these things I'm looking for any advice or feedback before I go ahead with a possible purchase.

I would appreciate any comments...good or otherwise.

Do it fella you will love it, why not a 140ps though

I only opted for the 110ps as the place I am looking at buying it from have done what I consider to be a decent deal on it for me. Also I live in Hull - one of the flattest places in the UK so thought that the 110 should suffice.

How long have you had yours?

Any good/bad bits?

What's it like on the juice?

Got it Nov 06, quick, quiet, drives like a car. Usual EGR problems, front pads every 15k, 35k front tyres. Constant 100mph=18mpg, 70mph=35mpg, 55-60mph=48mpg and mine has the 4.54 diff

Am I right in thinking that they are chain driven as opposed to a belt? I'd been told to keep an eye out for this as it can save a few quid.

How often are the services reccomended?

Anything else I should know before I bite the bullet?

Don't know about the belt/chain but service is 15k miles and no other van based bus will drive like it

Sorry to be a pain but could you list the 'toys' that come as standard on these please.

Am I right in thinking that all the GLX's come with Cruise Control as standard?

I'm getting conflicting stories elsewhere.

Look on Ford website at the vehicle configurator and it should tell you, cruise isn't standard on the Glx van though

HI Guys, newbie here - I actually work for Ford on the Transit programme (planning the flow of parts into their Chinese commercial vehicle plant). Thinking of buying a Tourneo and figured it would be quicker coming here for answers than asking around the office

I need a vehicle thats equal parts load carrier / family transport - so before i dive head first into a Tourneo purchase, can someone please advise are the rear seats fully and easily removable / replaceable. If not, then i guess the most suitable vehicle would be a caravelle

yep the rear row can be removed in a couple of minutes giving a decent payload area or the seat backs can go down flat
