EX RAC Transits from MVS Sales

Postby sirrobertknolles » Fri Feb 06, 2009 10:35 am

Hello,

I am thinking about getting a Ex RAC van from MVS Sales near sheffield. Has anyone brought one of these vans and are they good value. And what are MVS like to deal with.

We had a look at one and was concerned that they had been standing around for a long time. Any tips or experiences with these vans would be much appreciated.

and what should l know about Duel Mass Flywheel, are these vans likly to suffer from this failing ?

thanks

Dunk

Only thing iv done is serviced it and changed the timing chain tentioner and guides (about £250) you will know if it needs them because it will rettle when started from cold, everything else is just mods,

Put it this way me dad see it and now he is going to be trading his MK5 in for one

Here are some pics the day it came, they dont do it justice thou

they only spray the bumpers ordinarily they will spray entire van for £4-500 depending on your requirments. i have asked elsewhere about the clutch and flywheel and was told once replaced with a new one should be fine, is that right if not is it possible to say what life they have. thanks for any replies.

No they dont, mine was sprayed all over and they do them all to get the sticker marks off, it was all included in the price

As for the bumpers, the later RAC vans dont have orange bumpers anyway

I have to dissagree, depends how good the local dealer is, as there maintained by the dealer where the driver lives, mine was a bad one with regards to certain things

only black bumpers on the later mk7 models unless they have been painted!
when i spoke the the lady at the rac she said they went back to not colour codeing the bumpers because they were £500 a time  so they had aircon instead!
