mileage

Postby IB » Sun May 10, 2009 10:14 pm

Hello

Have seen an 05 T260 transit mwb for sale, what would be considered as average mileage? Would 85000 be excessive and what mileage should the engine be good for?

Thanks

depends on use, condition, service history and how reputable the people are where you buying from? its above aveage milage but its really a personal thing you might only do ten thou a year for next five years then it will be right milage yor year but there is guys on here up near 500000 on 05 vans my r plate will never hit that!!! so really whats average mean? hope that helped :D :D

when i bought my van (on a 2000 plate) it was just over 2.5 years old & mileage was a bit high for the age,but i rarely go out of town so its maintained low mileage since...its now on about 107000 and no major faults.ive had a new clutch....mine is a 2.0 DOHC petrol/lpg....you get rust before engine probs if looked after

Hi
I only do about 9000 miles a year but was going to go to europe next month 1200 miles there and back so was trying to get one that hopefully is reliable. The transit i have at the moment has done a lot of miles and the engine has been reliable. Would an 85ps mwb be suitable for a long journey with a light load or should i look for one with a bigger engine. Sorry for all the questions but want to make the right choice.

Thanks

When I bought my van it was 16 months old and had 186 000 km on clock. Now it's over 12 years old, is just under 500 000 km and works just fine :) As was said - everything depends how it was used...

Hello

Engine still reliable but bodywork getting very tatty now as well as some other bits . Also wanted to change for a slightly smaller van as the available parking spaces seem to be getting smaller.
