Looking to buy a Mk6 Tourneo

Postby paulrockliffe » Tue Feb 09, 2010 1:26 am

Hello,

I'm looking for a MK6 Tourneo with the intention of being able to run it with 3 front seats and a lot of kit, 6 seats and a lot of bikes, or 9 seats for various adventures. I've been browsing ebay for a while and have seen that the ok ones tend to start around £6k and go up wards as mileage falls etc. But I've managed to find one with 98,000 miles on the clock for £3k, that looks pretty good value for money, so I'm thinking about having a look at that one.

I don't really know a lot about Transits or Tourneos, I had one on hire a few months ago that I loved, it's perfect for what I want, but I forgot to give it the once over to check everything matches up with what I'm after. How easy are the seats to take in and out? Do the rear seats slide back and forwards at all, or could they be mounted further forward? Can you fit them facing backwards?

More generally, what sort of things should I be looking for when viewing a van? I know to check for rust all over, but what about other things?

Cheers

Cheers, I suspected the seats didn't slide. How easy is it to remove the seats? I notice you've got the first row of back seats facing the opposite way to normal; is that just a case of turning the seats around?
