Postby spoofer28 » Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:57 pm

need a bit of help im thinking of selling my van but duno what its worth?
its a P reg 100 lwb hi-top its just a ex-bt engine that had 78k when fitted and its done about 5k since fitting that vans showing 180ish when when engine was fitted it had a full service (all belts, filters, oils ect) 11months mot wich it passed no problems all that was said was one of the head lights was out of line, underneath is solid with only welding done to the rear cross member and handbrake mount, body work is again pritty much solid the only work are the front arches 1 started to show rust it that was ground down and sorted and the other arch had a bang in it where some kind person hit it, but when that work was done it wasnt painted the same shade and isnt the best job so that could do with redoing

so any thorts of what its worth?

Prices vary with geographical region, so have you looked on autotrader for similar in your area?

It's worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it, is the simple answer. How long is a piece of string.

Unfortunately "not very much" is the case for most MK5's. Given that most Mk6's are getting so cheap now (for a reason of course  ) there is no reason for the ill-informed to choose an older van like a 5.

Sorry I can't be more help.

thats what i bought it for cos its the biggest you can get on a normal car mot (its the longest that will fit on a standard ramp and 100kg lighter than the max wight)

think ill stick it in the local paper for £1000 and if it go's it go's if it dont ill keep hold of it and turn it in to the camper

Why don't you keep it and build that camper? the van looks pretty tidy for the year, if you build the camper well it would increase it's value several times over, then if you really NEED to sell you should make a tidy profit :D
