Advice on buying a transit

Postby jerrycan » Thu Jul 20, 2006 1:31 pm

I am looking for a transit to buy and have around £1500 ish to spend on something decent. The van need not be in the best of condition bodywise (I know it wont for that money) but engine-wise... Really want to avoid buying a nightmare. Any top tips very gratefully received. (Transit Virgin) :)

cant realy say :? you have just gota use your own judgment mate , buy a non turbo ,check for too much smoke etc you should be able to buy a half decent van for that money!
on the hole the di is a strong engine ,so make shure you test drive and be happy with its performance! :)

wear old clothes and prepare to get dirty, roll under and check properly round the spring hangers and everywhere for rot, they are starting to rot bad now, ive been shocked at some ive seen, they look ok outside but the rear spring hangers ready to fall off  if there boarded out in the back you must go under, unless your really fat theres room to slide under and have a good look :D
