Postby david1949 » Tue Oct 12, 2010 11:19 am

Hi i am looking some advice / i am about to buy a new Hymer 562 Silverline motorhome at £50,000 on a 2-2 liter M W B Duratorq T D Ci diesel Ford Transit maximum power output 140bhp@3500 maximum torque 350 Nm @1800-2400 /six speed box/ front wheel drive. So what i would like to know is there any problems with this type of Transit like problems that Ford need to address and have not done so also what is the serving cost like and price of parts so hoping someone can help.

hi
transits suffer from rust issues, more so than other vehicles.

Hi,

Your Hymer will be new Mine is a 26 years old Mark2 2.5 Di.
I have owned her for the last ten years and she still runs Perfect.

Parts fitted by Hymer can be very expensive, mechanical parts you can shop around.
We have many Ford Hymer In Germany and many service agents Therefore service prices are competitive due to the competition starting at around 120 pounds.

The only problem is rust, make sure its treated when you buy.

As for front wheel drive it is the preferred drive in my part of Germany where the vans are used all year round often in long periods of Snow,
Get It and Enjoy,I am sure you have made a Great Choice.Transits for Ever.
