help me please

Postby andyj007 » Tue Nov 23, 2010 12:03 am

Hi everybody.. firstly i know this is a transit forum so please be honest no slating other brands just be honest..
I currently have a w reg non turbo transit it has 65,000 miles i purchased it from direct from BT when you could.. I have had it fully serviced by bt each year. it has been amazing 1 alternator 1 set of tyres, 1 battery in 5 years. the van is starting to get a little tatty for my duties & presentation and i recently did a quick repair to hide some rust coming through on the arches.. its very clean inside and everywhere else. the rear doors are great.. its economical pulls a load well, but is not really refined for long distance driving.. its noisey, and a little slow to rev but ok once it gets there... i think its time for a change.. i know whatver i buy next from what vere manfacture will be more unreliable.. thats just a fact of overcomplicating...
I need a work horse that will run & run..
Im lucky that we can afford to go out and buy any new van on the market..
I really like the new layout of the transit interior and it drives real nice... i tried a 115 trend.. the engine had a bit of a tappety noise at around 2,500 revs.. (was a demo with 100miles) but other than that i loved it..
When ever i buy a new vehicle after two or three weeks i start to find the bits that i really dont like and didnt notice on the test drive.. they all have them all vans, cars, motorcycles what ever... whilst these little bits are kinda personal opinion stuff i would like to know what if anything that niggles you after you have had ownership for a while..

my second choice van at the moment would be nearly new transporter 102ps. but i think the interior is a bit bland an dthe the new transit has more features i will use.. heated screen , mirrors, air con, cubby holes etc etc plus it would be new...

Look forward to your responses..

My bro wanted a new van and he, like you, had his eye on a Transporter and a Vito :x

I told him to try them out first, then try the latest Transit and see for himself which one he likes best

He didn't think the Vito would last long at all and the Transporter felt very old fashioned, bland (like you said) and uncomfortable :!: (this was in 2008, incase anyone reads this in a few years  )

Needless to say, he ended up with the best van :!: :D
